When I watch her performance, to me, she looks in control, happy, energetic, joyful, sexually alive, sexually active, mischievous, fun and possibly slightly drunk. But unfortunately for some, that equals ‘slut’ and I think that says something pretty awful. Personally, I see no reason why what she did would cause damage to a teenage girl – quite the contrary – she looks like she thinks sex is fun and something to be enjoyed on her terms. She does not look abused, exploited, cowed, coy or chaste, and hooray for her – above all, she looks free, and some may find that threatening, but not I. I find it thrilling. |
